Director, Strength for Service to God and Country Publication Fund, 2001-present

A seventeen-year employee of the GCUMM, Larry has over thirty years of non-profit and church experience including service with the Boy Scouts of America, Special Olympics and Catholic Charities.

Larry is a contributing editor and director of Strength for Service to God and Country, 2002 (10 printings, 420,000 books in print).Over $1.5 million dollars has been raised to support the project.

Larry is a contributing editor to UMMen magazine, editor of the Guidelines series, Scouting Ministries, 2009-2012 and editor of Scouting News. He initiated the creation of the Good Samaritan Award for youth in 2000. Over 900 have been awarded.

He enjoys spending his spare time as a Big Brother to Calvin (since 2007). He also enjoys exercising, raising his two dogs, reading and traveling. Larry co-hosts a top-rated sports podcast with his youngest son, Ben.

Larry is a graduate of A.U.M. with a B.S. in Urban Studies. He also has a master’s degree in public administration. He earned the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2004 from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and was named Fundraising Professional of the Year in 2009 by the Nashville Chapter.

Larry is married to Diane, a local United Methodist pastor. The couple has three grown children: Jennifer, a housewife and mother of three girls; Jeremy, father of three girls and Benjamin, father of one girl and Eagle Scout.
