This was a great day.  I am in Kansas and was blessed to address the Kansas East/West Event.  Many of you know that I have lived about 35 years in Texas, and that I grew up in Virginia.  But my roots go back to Kansas where both my parents grew up.  I was named after my grandfather, Rev. Gilbert Meyer, a pastor from the Kansas East Conference.  At this meeting today were 2 men that made my day, one was born in Wathena where my mom and dad met in high school, and was baptized by grandfather (as was I).  The other was a long time member of the church in Overland Park where grandpa served as minister of visitation. I had a great time and this was a great event.  Striving- Gil
