May 17th, 2012

Hillcrest Church in Nashville is one of 65 church groups that has requested a truckload of sweet potatoes in response to an emergency appeal from the Society of St. Andrew.

The congreation has asked for a truck with 42,000 pounds of sweet potatoes to be delivered in the hope that other Nashville area congregations will send volunteers to help bag the potatoes for food banks and help pay for the shipment.

Sixty-four other church groups in 12 states have responded in a similar manner. See appeal in the feature section of this website.
