CLOVIS, Calif. As federal employees consider ways in which they can donate to various charities Michael Fiest suggests that they consider listing Strength for Service as one of the tax-deductible agencies covered through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).

The gathering at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Clovis is just one of several hundred similar CFC events across the country. At each event, federal employees are given a brochure, pen, tape measure or notepad.

Larry Dozier, president of the Western Jurisdiction UM Men, participated in a Sept. 27 CFC event at the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Barstow, Calif.  Dozier says some 800 guests attended the event held during the Ohana Festival.

“The CFC events represents a unique and exciting opportunity to tell the Strength for Service story to Federal employees,” said Larry Coppock, a staff executive with the General Commission on UM Men. “So far  our volunteer leaders have manned exhibits and spoke on our behalf at military bases, post offices, VA medical centers, airports and a host of other venues. It is important that we have a strong presence in this our first year in the CFC.”
