CIMARRON, N.M.–– Twenty participants in a national United Methodist Scouting Ministry Workshop at the Philmont Scout Ranch volunteered to become scouting ministry specialists, bringing the total number of people helping local churches expand their ministries to young people to 183.

Led by seven faculty members, 24 people participated in the Aug. 5-11 workshop. Faculty members included jurisdictional scouting coordinators, members of the UMC Scouting Ministry Committee, and Larry Coppock, director of scouting ministries.

The next national training will be at the Florida Sea Base, Islamorada, Fla., on Presidents' Day weekend, February 15-18, 2013. Contact Marc Stowe, mstowe@gcumm.org., if you are interested in attending.
